Alaska Airlines is a mainline airline from the United States. The company is based in Seatac (near Seattle). Alaska Airlines was founded in 1932 and today flies to about 100 destinations. The company’s main hub is the Seattle International Airport. In addition, Alaska Airlines operates Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

The old name of the company is McGee Airways. In 1942 the name was changed to Alaska Star Airlines. The airline received its current name in 1944.
